This trumpet valve guard XL is designed to provide the most vulnerable parts of your instrument with even more protection. What sets this valve guard apart from the guard L, is the larger size. It covers the valves, bell pipe, and 3rd valve slide finishes altogether. The valve guard XL is also equipped with additional petals covering the lead pipe, which is regularly exposed to contact with sweat from hands when you hold the trumpet. By using this valve protector you effectively extend the lifetime of your instrument’s finish by preventing the harmful impacts of sweat and rubbing.
The reptile-inspired texture makes this accessory unique and appealing. Moreover, the scaly overlapping pattern perfectly conceals any scratches and defects that may appear over years of active use. You can select the guard in any color, from vivid to classic, to complement your brand. In addition to its beautiful exterior, the valve guard XL features a soft inner lining with excellent moisture-absorbing properties. While absorbing moisture effectively, it also gently contacts the finish leaving no scratches.
Our reptile leather valve guard is compatible with trumpets of various finishes. However, when using it with the raw brass and silver, we recommend removing the accessory after each practice session and concert to allow it to dry from absorbed moisture. This will allow you to prevent moisture accumulation under the protector and reduce the risk of oxidation of the finish.
Depending on the frequency of use, our valve guards serve for 5-10 years. As soon as the leather looks worn out, it’s better to replace the old valve protector, as worn-out material can’t perform its protective function well.
When purchasing this leather valve guard, you can request additional personalization with embossed initials, names or full names (up to 20 English symbols). We can emboss only capital letters, both capital and small letters, or small letters only.
